BUMAX named top ten export company
Swedish manufacturer of premium stainless steel fasteners BUMAX has been named one of the top ten export companies in the Gästrikland district, Sweden’s steelmaking heartland.
The weekly regional newspaper Mitt Gävle has recently published its list of the top ten export companies in the Gästrikland district in Sweden. The list is part of a report compiled by the Swedish parliament’s Research Service. BUMAX is named as one of these ten largest export companies.
BUMAX is a world-leading specialist manufacturer of premium stainless steel fasteners in a variety of steel grades, including the world’s strongest stainless steel bolts. The company has its roots in the 1600s with a proud engineering and stainless steel manufacturing history, like many of the companies on the top ten list. Seven of the ten largest export companies in Gästrikland are steel companies, including four companies in the Sandvik Group and Ovako.meta
Approximately two-thirds of BUMAX’s revenues come from exports to Europe, Australasia and the US for customers in the marine, automotive, chemical processing, construction and other industries with a need for premium quality fasteners for challenging applications.
Gästrikland is a district in central Sweden that is part of the Bergslagen region, the traditional heart of Sweden’s world-leading mining, engineering and metallurgic industries. Rich in iron ore, Bergslagen has mined iron and other metals ever since the Middle Ages and today boasts several world-class steel companies such as BUMAX, Sandvik, SSAB, Ovako, Outokumpu and Uddeholm. BUMAX is headquartered in Åshammar near Sandviken, approximately 160 kilometres north of Stockholm.
